What is the Urantia Book
I am utterly convinced that, circa 1906–1955, non-material beings of super-human intelligence and maturity interfaced regularly with a group of (eventually) six mortals for the purpose of providing a religious revelation of epochal significance.
This was penned by Larry Mullins in his book, co written with Meredith Sprunger “The History of the Urantia Papers” Urantia is what the entities call our planet. Not Earth but Urantia. The book contains 196 Papers gathered from about 1911- 1935. The collection has been set into 4 categories. For those who maybe are not aware of the work I will outline below an overview – Thanks to Urantia book fellowship website for the descriptions below.
- “The Central and Super universes,”
Section 1 gives an understanding the physical, and spiritual structure of the universe—a universe that is spirit dominated and personality managed.
- “The Local Universe,”
Section 2 contains an overview of life after death—the adventure of life in the Local Universe. It contains background on life evolution, local universe administration, and a compelling vision of human destiny.
- “The History of Urantia,”
Section 3 details history of our world includes the geological and biological evolution, a new perspective on evolution and creationism, and a history of human cultural, religious, and spiritual development. It revitalizes the archetypal stories of Judeo-Christian religion including the rebellion of Lucifer, Adam and Eve, the visit of Melchizedek and Abraham, and much more.

- “The Life and Teachings of Jesus.”
Section 4 contains the most spiritually compelling story of Jesus anywhere in print. It provides a detailed narrative of Jesus’ entire life including the so-called “missing years,” his discourses, parables, significant life events, crucifixion and resurrection. This life and teachings of Jesus is supplemented by an extensive spiritual cosmology provided in the first three sections of The Urantia Book.
Upon reviewing this massive work of 2097 pages you ask yourself, are men really being visited by extraterrestrial entities claiming to be angels? Is there really intelligent life elsewhere in the universe? Are the angels really speaking through men today? What are they saying? What is their world view? The message according to their proponents is basically Christian. If it is, then we need not be concerned.
Dr. William Sadler a brilliant man and the founder of this movement made a remark in his 1929 psychiatric work “The Mind at Mischief”, Sadler a Seventh Day Adventist noted in the appendix speaking of the phenomenon of the revelation…
“Its philosophy is consistent. It is essentially Christian and is, on the whole,
entirely harmonious with the known scientific facts and truths of this age. In fact, the case is so unusual and extraordinary that it establishes itself immediately, as far as my experience goes, in a class by itself, one which has thus far resisted all my efforts to prove it to be of auto-psychic origin. Our investigations are being continued and, as I have intimated, I hope some time in the near future to secure permission for the more complete reporting of the phenomena connected with this interesting case.”
